Evidence of Appreciation

During my three practicums, the students’ enthusiasm and engagement enriched my teaching experience. Their curiosity and willingness to participate not only made lessons more dynamic but also deepened my passion for education. The connections we built cultivated a supportive learning environment, allowing me to grow both professionally and personally. I am profoundly grateful for their contributions, including the thoughtful posters they created for me, which have left a lasting impact on my journey as an educator.

Practicum #2

This token of appreciation was from my Grade 7 students that I had the pleasure of teaching. Their creativity and effort have truly brightened my experience and reinforced the strong bond we’ve built in our classroom. I am grateful for their support and inspired to continue promoting a positive learning environment.

Practicum #3

This poster was gifted to me by my Grade 7/8 students and truly touches on a few of my favourite things. I had the great pleasure of building strong relationships with each one of my students and appreciating the interests that we shared. They remembered that I am a HUGE WWE fan, I love lasagna, and cats are one of my favourite animals!

Practicum #3

This was a small gesture that I had given to each of my students as a token of appreciation for working hard and supporting me through my journey in becoming a teacher. My aim was to personalize the gift bags and share a little message with each of them to let them know what kind of impact they have had on my teaching experience.

Reflection

With reflecting on my experiences across three practicum schools, I’ve gained valuable insights into effective teaching practices. I’ve become proficient in implementing differentiated instruction as well as designing lessons to meet diverse student needs and learning styles. My hallmark has become crafting engaging lessons that captivate students’ interests and encourage active participation. Central to a successful classroom is building strong connections with students; these relationships create an environment where learners feel valued and motivated to grow. At Tyndale University, I learned the importance of creating brave spaces—classrooms where open dialogue and respectful challenges are encouraged. I am committed to maintaining such environments throughout my teaching career, ensuring every student feels safe and empowered to express themselves.
